Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and endurance at MOUQUET FARM on the 26th August, 1916, as runners between the front line and Brigade Headquarters under heavy fire of machine guns and artillery. Lance Corporal BROADBENT in particular distinguished himself by his instant readiness to undertake dangerous duty and the reliability of his work. The services of both soldiers call for the highest praise.'
