Commenced return to Australia, 7 January 1916; admitted to 2nd Auxiliary Convalescent Depot, Heliopolis, 12 January 1916 (tuberculosis); transferred to Convalescent hospital, Helouan, 20 January 1916 (dysentery); discharged to duty, Overseas Base, Ghezireh, 27 January 1916; rejoined Bn, 18 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 27 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 3 April 1916.
