Military Medal 'Was conspicuous by his good work on night of 1st/2nd February, 1917, in action north east of UEUDECOURT. He volunteered to assist in carrying bombs and ammunition to the captured enemy trench, through heavy enemy artillery barrage and afterwards assisted stretcher bearers in carrying wounded under heavy fire. His conduct was most admirable and exemplary. He has been previously noticed for gallant behaviour.'
