Military Medal 'At POLYGON WOOD Area near HOOGE on the 29th September 1917 No. 5101 Lance Corporal W.B. WYLIE 'A' Company 32nd Battalion A.I.F. displayed great courage and initiative under most trying circumstances whilst acting as a Company Runner. During a serious enemy counter attack he continued to carry messages to Battalion headquarters through an exceptionally heavy barrage of shells and Machine Gun fire. He passed through this eight times and through his determination and bravery important information was got back the enemy attack was driven off. His example inspired all his comrades who saw him.'
