Military Medal 'During the attack on MT. ST. QUENTIN near PERONNE on 31st August 1918, Private WYNDOE displayed exceptional courage and ability. He was posted with his Lewis gun on the right flank of his company which was in the air. During two determined enemy attacks along the trench on this flank and although continually subjected to heavy minenwerfer fire, he alone kept the enemy at bay with his Lewis gun until bombing squads were organised to meet them. His remarkable gallantry and determination when faced with great danger undoubtedly checked a serious menace to his company.'
