Military Medal 'On 4th October 1917, East of YPRES, for conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty in action. This N.C.O. was in charge of party carrying Trench Mortar ammunition. Under most difficult conditions, he succeeded in keeping the guns supplied with shells and the way in which he organised his parties is worthy of the highest praise.'
