War service: England, France Embarked Sydney, 4 September 1918; found guilty, at sea, of neglect to obey an order given by an NCO: awarded 3 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited 3 days' pay; disembarked London, 14 November 1918, and marched in to 5th Training Bn. Proceeded overseas to France, 25 January 1919. Admitted to 39th General Hospital, Havre, 18 April 1919; transferred to England, and admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 19 April 1919; discharged, 6 June 1919; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 52 days. Admitted to 1st Australian Dermatological Hospital, Bulford, 9 June 1919; discharged to No 2 Group, Sutton Veney, 11 August 1919; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 64 days.
