Admitted to Convalescent Home, Ras el Tin, 19 October 1915 (dyspepsia); discharged to Australian Base, 15 November 1915.

Admitted to Choubra Military Isolation Hospital, 24 March 1916; discharged to duty, 29 March 1916; transferred to 3rd Australian General Hospital, 12 June 1916; embarked for England from Alexandria on board HS 'Maheno', 30 Jubne 1916 (post-typhoid debility); admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 3 July 1916. Marched out to Ludgers Hall, 16 August 1916; proceeded on furlough, 14 September 1916; marched in to Command Depot, Perham Downs, from furlough, 27 October 1916; marched out to Cobham Hall Convalescent Home, 22 November 1916; marched out to Australian Army Medical Corps Training Depot, Parkhouse, 9 April 1917.

Proceeded overseas to France, 1 June 1917; taken on strength, 3rd Field Ambulance, in the field, 8 June 1917.
