Found guilty, 31 August 1917, of being absent without leave, 30-31 August 1917: awarded 7 days' confined to barracks, and forfeited 1 day's pay.

Admitted to Military Hospital, Press Heath, 3 September 1917; transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 11 September 1917 (pyorrhoea and alveolosis); discharged on furlough, 24 September 1917, to report on 1 October 1917.
