Proceeded overseas to France, 15 September 1918; posted to 1st Australian Division Train, 2 October 1918, and taken on strength, No 4 Company, AASC, in the field. Promoted Temporary Corporal, 18 January 1919. Detached for transport duty, Calais, 7 March 1919; rejoined unit from detachment, 12 March 1919. Transferred to No 1 Company, AASC, 27 March 1919. On leave to United Kingdom, 2 April 1919; rejoined unit from leave, 22 April 1919. Marched out to England, 20 May 1919, for return to Australia, and reverted to Driver.
