Reported missing in action, 5 April 1918; now, 1 October 1918, posted killed in action, 5 April 1918.

Statement, Red Cross File No 0390905Q, Lance Corporal A.J. COURT, B Company, 48th Bn, 21 June 1918: 'About that number [3122 BISHOP] at about 5th April near A,bert, Germans were attacking, we were holding the lines - was wounded in cheek by, I think, a M/G bullet. He walked over to D/S. Doctors there could not stop belleding. I was told this by a man who was at D/S. Think artery was cut in face. At that time things were very hot as far as fighting went. I know nothing of him after that. Came from South Australia (Leigh Creek) horsebreaker, age about 21 years, clean shaved, slight about 5 ft 6 ins. Known as "Bish".'
