Transferred to Artillery Details, Heytesbury, 12 November 1917. Proceeded overseas to France, 18 December 1917; taken on strength, 2nd Division Artillery, in the field, 24 December 1917. Detached for instruction to 2nd Army Trench Mortar School, 6 January 1918; rejoined unit from detachment, 20 January 1918. Proceeded on leave, 27 February 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 13 March 1918. Wounded in action, 18 August 1918 (gas), and admitted to 61st Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to 9th General Hospital, Rouen, 19 August 1918; to England, 23 August 1918, and admitted to 1st Birmingham War Hospital, 24 August 1918; transferred to 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 4 September 1918; discharged on furlough, 1 October 1918, to report to Littlemore Camp, Weymouth, 16 October 1918.
