Military Medal 'At FLEURBAIX, FRANCE. Telephonist with Right Flank party in connection with the successful raid carried out by 9th Battalion on the night of 1st/2nd July, 1916. He remained calmly on enemy parapet during the raid and though under fire from rifles and bombs got his messages through correctly remaining until the last of his party was out of enemy trench and then operated his instrument conveying messages to O.C. Battalion.'
