Military Medal 'For most conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He had charge of the continuous wave Wireless Section of the 4th Australian Divisional Artillery during the period 17th September to 11th November 1918. On 29th September 1918, during the attack on the HINDENBURG Line by the 27th U.S. Division, he maintained his Station in the open, despite heavy shell-fire which continually cut the aerial and caused casualties in the vicinity. During the subsequent advance to the Canal de la SAMBRE a' l' OISE, continuous Wave Wireless was often the only means of communication, and it was owing to his splendid personal example to his men under shell fire, and his well though out plans that his means of communication was so successful.'
