Found guilty, 24 July 1915, of disobedience of orders: awarded 3 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Wounded in action, 4 August 1915 (bullet wound, skull; condition dangerous), and admitted to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to 21st General Hospital, Alexandria, 1 October 1915; to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Cairo, 1 October 1915.
