Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 26 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 31 March 1916. Wounded in action, 26 July 1916 (gun shot wound, right arm), and admitted to 5th General Hospital, Rouen; transferred to England, 4 August 1916, and admitted to 2nd Birmingham war Hospital, 6 August 1916.
