Marched out of 3rd Training Bn, Zeitoun, 29 February 1916, and taken on strength of 49th Bn, Tel el Kebir, 29 February 1916.

Appointed Driver in 1st Line Transport, 7 April 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 5 June 1917; disembarked Marseilles, France, 13 June 1916.

Admitted to No 13 Australian Field Ambulance, 8 August 1917 (gonorrhoea); transferred to No 2 Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 8 August 1917; to No 2 Canadian General Hospital, Le Treport, 11 August 1917; to No 39 General Hospital, Le Havre, 13 August 1917; discharged, 17 October 1917, and marched into 4th Australian Divisional Base Depot, Le Havre, the same day; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 71 days.
