Military Medal

'During the attack on the North of ROSIERES on August 9th 1918, owing to the heavy casualties, stretcher bearers were called for and this soldier volunteered. During the remainder of the day and the whole of the two following days when the attack was made upon LIHONS, he worked continuously and repeatedly went to the assistance of wounded men under heavy machine gun fire. This soldier showed a complete disregard for danger in the performance of his duties and his devotion to the task he had undertaken was most conspicuous.'
