Military Medal 'During the 3rd/4th and 5th September, 1916, Sapper BUCHANAN assisted Sergeant SHARP in maintaining telephone lines from POZIERES. During the above period he showed great gallantry and devotion to duty, and did splendid work in mending lines under heavy fire.'
