'During the operations South of MORLANCOURT near ALBERT, on the night 10/11th June, at the height of the enemy bombardment, and after all communications had been broken, this man took special reports back to Brigade Headquarters. Although blown up by a shell, he succeeded in delivering his report. Later on during the night, he repeatedly carried messages through heavy shell fire regardless of personal safety. Through his efforts the Brigade Commander was kept fully cognisant of events.'
