Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 4 August 1917, pronounced fate as 'Killed in Action, 19 July 1916'.

Statement, Red Cross File No 591204, 3074 Lance Corporal W.S. CRUISE, 60th Bn (patient, No 6 General Hospital, Rouen), 7 December 1916: 'He says they went over at Fromelles about 6 in the evening on July 19th, and soon after, he saw Bullen fall. He was about 20 yards away. They went on and Bullen was left. Later they retired to their original position.'
