Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of four machine guns during an attack. He behaved with great coolness under heavy fire and on arrival at the objective he personally sited his own guns and three captured guns. Throughout the operation he worked his guns with great skill, and set a fine example of courage and devotion to duty.'
