Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period April, 1917, to present date, this N.C.O. has performed the duties of motor Cyclist D.R. Sergeant, and Divisional Headquarters Signal Office Superintendent in a highly efficient manner. His work has been consistently of the highest order - remarkable devotion to duty being displayed on many occasions; especially during the heavy fighting at PASSCHENDAELE, period September and October, 1917, his energetic and capable management of the Advanced D.H.Q. Signal Office, contributed largely to the smooth and efficient working of communications.'
