Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on the 5th April 1918 against our positions opposite DERNANCOURT and ALBERT. Gunner BURCHAM was Battery A.M.C. detail and his work throughout the operation was excellent. The Battery casualties were exceedingly high. This Gunner dressed all wounded and saw every one to the Dressing Station - necessitating going through very heavy enemy barrage. He showed extraordinary coolness in the execution of his duties during the whole period.'
