'From 30th August to 1st September, 1918, at CLERY, Gunner BURRETT did invaluable work under heavy shell fire in maintaining communications between the battery and O.P. His work has called for exceptional qualities, and at no time did he fail to maintain communication, and so keep the battery advised of the situation and enable fire to be directed on to the enemy.'
