Military Medal 'At BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 4th October, 1917 Pte. BURT was running a guiding tape to the objective. When the advance was held up by a line of block houses, Pte. BURT went forward and assisted the advance killing several of the enemy and capturing others. He then returned to the tape and completed his task. He showed great coolness and his bearing throughout was excellent.'
