Military Medal 'During the attack on the BEAUREVOIR Line, east of PERONNE, on 3rd October, 1918, the Battalion on our right was held up by heavy machine gun fire. One of our tanks had just come back, but the gunners had all fainted from exhaustion. Private AMOS volunteered to go with the tank as a gunner. This he did, but the tank was blown out by a direct hit from a shell. Private AMOS was very badly shaken, but he came back and volunteered to go with a party to clean up the machine gun post. His behaviour throughout the attack was splendid.'
