Military Medal 'On 26.9.17 this man was on duty with other bearers at HALFWAY HOUSE. Shelling was at the time very heavy when some casualties occurred about 200 yards from the medical dugout. Without hesitation with Private White he picked up a stretcher and went to the assistance of the wounded man, assisted him and brought him in. This man's previous work as a bearer has been very plucky and consistently good.'
