Found guilty, 17 March 1916, of being absent from the 0845 and the 1445 parades: awarded 2 days' confined to camp, forfeits one day's pay. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Found guilty, 6 July 1916, of (1) leaving his picquet without permission, (2) absent without leave from 0915 hours until 2130 hours: awarded 28 days' Field Punishment No 2 and forfeited 1 day's pay.
