Sick to hospital, 30 August 1915; transferred by HS 'Neuralia' to Malta, 10 September 1915, and admitted to St Andrew's Hospital (dysentery); transferred to London, 21 October 1915, and admitted to King George's Hospital, Stamford Street, London, 29 October 1915. Embarked A&NZ Base, Weymouth, 22 February 1916, to rejoin Mediterranean Expeditionary Force; disembarked Alexandria from England, 5 March 1916. Taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Reserve Regiment, 6 March 1916. Taken on strength, 3rd Light Horse Regiment, Romani, 11 June 1916.
