Proceeded overseas to France, 5 February 1918; taken on strength, 35th Bn, in the field, 12 February 1918.

Wounded in action, 4 April 1918 (gun shot wound, right thigh); admitted to 9th Australian Field Ambulance, 5 April 1918; transferred to 6th General Hospital, Rouen, 6 April 1918; to England, 9 April 1918, and admitted to Bath War Hospital, 10 April 1918; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 17 May 1918; discharged to No 4 Command Depot, Hurdcott, 21 June 1918.

Marched into Overseas Training Bde, Longbridge Deverill, 31 July 1918.

Proceeded overseas to France, 22 August 1918; rejoined 35th Bn, in the field, 26 August 1918.

Admitted to 9th Australian Field Ambulance, 27 September 1918 (septic right knee); transferred to 6th General Hospital, Rouen, 28 September 1918; to England, 3 October 1918, and admitted to Graylingwell War Hospital, Chichester, 4 October 1918; transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford, 15 November 1918; discharged on furlough, 16 November 1918, to report to No 1 Command Depot, Stton Veny, 30 November 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'City of York', 14 January 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 27 February 1917, for onward travel to Sydney; discharged (termination of period of enlistment), Sydney, 28 March 1919.
