Admitted to No. 3 Field Ambulance Hospital, 21 September 1915 (dysentery). Embarked on HT 'Dunluce Castle' for Malta, 26 September 1915 (gastritis); admitted to Military Hospital, Valetta, 27 September 1915. Embarked for England on HT 'Gascon', 15 October 1915; admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 24 October 1915. Disembarked Alexandria from England, on board HT 'Kingstonian', 5 March 1916; reported for duty, 11th Light Horse Regiment, Heliopolis, 6 March 1916, and taken on strength, 'B' Squadron.
