Wounded in action, 6 October 1918 (gun shot wound, left arm); admitted to 3rd Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 8 October 1918; invalided to England, 18 October 1918, and admitted to 1st Southern General Hospital, Stourbridge Section, Birmingham, 19 October 1918 (multiple gun shot wounds). Transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 17 December 1918; discharged to No. 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 6 January 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Margha', 18 January 1919; arrived Melbourne, 5 March 1919; discharged, 11 April 1921.
