Admitted to New Zealand and Australian Convalescent Hospital, Helouan, Egypt, 12 August 1915 (injured knee); discharged to duty, 20 August 1915. Admitted to 25th Australian Casualty Clearing Station, Embros, 24 September 1915 (rheumatism); transferred to St Patrick's Hospital, Malta, 1 October 1915; to England, 31 October 1915, and admitted to 3rd Southern General Hospital, Oxford, 9 November 1915.
