Military Medal 'Near HERLEVILLE, East of AMIENS, on 18th August, 1918 during the attack on an enemy system this N.C.O. guided reinforcements forward to isolated posts of the Battalion on our left, through heavy enemy artillery and machine gun barrage, by his skilful handling, this party reached their destination without casualties, and their arrival changed an obscure position into strong defence position. His coolness and courage whilst performing this duty, were of the highest standard and acted as a great incentive to the men.'
