'This Warrant Officer has rendered most efficient service as Company Quarter-Master Sergeant and Regimental Quarter-master Sergeant. During operations he has always displayed courage and resourcefulness, and always personally supervised the distribution of rations and supplies. He has shown the greatest interest and untiring energy in the welfare of the men, and has worked continually with commendable zeal and enthusiasm.'
