Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. East of YPRES on 14th October, 1917, this Driver was in charge of an ammunition party going to the gun position with pack transport. When on the YPRES - MENIN Road the party was subjected to intense shell fire. He set a fine example of coolness and determination and led the party through the fire and delivered the ammunition.'
