Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry on 25th April, 1915, and subsequently during landing operations in the neighbour of Gaba Tepe (Dardanelles). He advanced under heavy rifle and shrapnel fire and spent the day attending to wounded men. He repeatedly during the following days brought wounded men in over ground swept by the enemy's fire.'
