Meritorious Service Medal

'During period 25th February 1918 to 17th September 1918 this N.C.O. carried out the duties of Bootmaker Sergeant. At all times his work was done in a most conscientious manner, and he had to carry on under very trying circumstances. He gave perfect satisfaction and worked exceptionally hard during the recent fighting practically always under adverse conditions.'
