Embarked Melbourne, 4 August 1917; disembarked Glasgow, Scotland, 2 October 1917. Marched in to Details, Nos 1-3 Camps, Parkhouse, 3 October 1917. Found guilty, 1 November 1917, of being absent without leave, Parkhouse, from 2400, 30 October 1917, till 10.30 am, 31 October 1917: admonished and forfeited 1 day's pay.

Proceeded overseas to France, 22 November 1917; taken on strength, 3rd Australian Tunnelling Company, 30 November 1917.

Admitted to 4th Canadian Field Ambulance, 5 February 1918 (pyrexia, unknown origin); transferred to 1st Canadian Casualty Clearing Station, 9 February 1918; to Ambulance Train No 28, 17 February 1918, and admitted to 7th Canadian General Hospital, 17 February 1918; transferred to England, 25 February 1918, and admitted to Boscombe Military Hospital, Hampshire, 26 February 1918 (myalgia); transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 5 March 1918; discharged on furlough, 14 March 1918, to report to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 28 March 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Ghaika' for discharge (myalgia, arteric sclerosis, overage), 12 May 1918; disembarked Melbourne, 5 July 1918; discharged, 23 August 1918.
