Military Medal

'On night 10th/11th August, 1918, near PROYART, this man was a member of "A" Company during the advance into enemy's territory and continued in close proximity to the head of the column and the enemy line until all wounded cases had been evacuated. He tended the wounded, organised stretcher bearers and displayed the greatest courage and devotion to duty under the terrific hail of enemy machine gun fire. His example of cheerfulness and steady perseverance.'
