Proceeded overseas to France, 8 July 1918.

Admitted to hospital, 14 December 1918 (septic foot, boil); transferred to England, 18 December 1918, and admitted to Beaufort War Hospital, Bristol. Granted furlough, 11 January 1919, to report to No. 1 Command Depot, Sutton Veny, 25 January 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Armagh', 5 April 1919; disembarked Melbourne, 18 May 1919; discharged, 14 June 1919.
