Military Medal 'On 26th September, 1917, Gunner COCKBURN was detailed as Runner to the Liaison Officer - (Lieutenant I.K. HARRISON). Throughout the day this man showed marked bravery and devotion to duty, carrying important despatches under heavy hostile shell-fire. In addition, Gunner COKCBURN assisted the Infantry with other important messages, this necessitating his passing repeatedly through heavy enemy barrages.'
