War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Palestine Embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 16 May 1915. Appointed Temporary Corporal, 14 November 1915; Corporal, 10 December 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, 25 December 1915 (general Gallipoli evacuation). Wounded slightly, and remained with Regiment, Dueidar, 5 August 1916. Promoted Sergeant, Hodamara, 14 March 1916.
