Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry during an attack. He led his company splendidly, over running an enemy strong point and killing or capturing the occupants. Though wounded, he re-organized his company under heavy fire and carried on up to the close of the operations. By his pluck and devotion to duty he set a very fine example to his men.'
