War service: Egypt, Palestine. Taken on strength of 12th Light Horse Regiment, Heliopolis, 15 March 1916. Marched into Tel el Kebir, 26 April 1916. Marched into Dueirdar, 12 June 1916. Found guilty, Serapeum, 21 August 1916, of conduct to the prejudice of good order and discipline: awarded 3 days' confined to camp. Attached to No 68 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps, Kantara, 20 December 1916, for trade test; rejoined unit, Ferry Post, 28 December 1916. Attached to 4th Light Horse Bde Headquarters, El Arish, 3 April 1917. Charged with, Tel el Fara, 14 June 1917, of while on active service, (1) being absent without leave under apprehended by Military Police at Zagazig, 10 June 1917; (2) being in possession of an improper pass; (3) neglecting to obey an general order in that he was not wearing an identity disc; found Guilty on Charge 3, and Not Guilty on Charges 1, and 2: award, cautioned and admonished. Attached to 37th Company, Australian Divisional Train, 7 January 1918. Taken on strength of 2nd Field Squadron, 14 February 1918, and posted to 4th Field Troop. Evacuated to hospital, 8 October 1918; admitted to No 21 General Hospital, Alexandria, 14 October 1918 (pneumonia, dangerously ill). Died, 17 October 1918 (pneumonia).
