Military Medal 'During the attack east of MONT ST. QUENTIN near PERONNE on 2nd September 1918, this man captured single handed 16 prisoners. Later in the attack, though wounded, he continued to fire his Lewis Gun under very trying circumstances, displaying great courage and devotion to duty by remaining at his post until ordered out by his Company Officer.'
