Military Medal 'On the 7th/8th and 9th June, 1917, during operations south of MESSINES for conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty under most trying conditions. When most of the team, of which he was a member, were disabled by gas, he carried important despatches through heavy shell fire and subsequently did fine work in bringing his guns into action when the team had been reduced to three men.'
