Admitted to 1st Canadian General Hospital, Etaples, 17 August 1917 (debility); transferred to England, 9 September 1917; admitted to Military Hospital, Devonport, England, 10 September 1917; discharged from hospital and granted leave, 24 September 1917; marched in to Weymouth Command Depot, 1 October 1917.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Port Darwin', 11 January 1918; disembarked Melbourne, 4 March 1918; discharged, 10 April 1918 (medically unfit: senility).
