War service: Egypt Embarked Sydney on HMAT 'Wiltshire', 31 August 1917; disembarked Suez, 5 October 1917; marched into Details Camp, Moascar, 5 October 1917; allotted to 1st Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 11 October 1917. Found guilty, 29 November1917, of conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline: awarded 8 days' Field Punishment No. 2; rejoined 14th Australian General Hospital for field punishment compound, 6 December 1917. Struck off strength of 14th Australian General Hospital, Pt. Said, 12 February 1918, and transferred to Australian Camel Field Ambulance; taken on strength, Rafa, 15 February 1918. Admitted sick to hospital, Surafend,12 June 1918 (malaria); discharged to unit, 20 June 1918. Admitted to 5th Light Horse Field Ambulance, Dumar, 5 October 1918 (not yet determined); discharged to unit, 11 October 1918. Admitted to 5th Light Horse Field Ambulance, 24 February 1918; discharged to unit, 27 February 1918; attached for duty with Australian Imperial Force Headquarters, Cairo, 9 May 1919.
